Love is in the Air-Part 2

Hi there my friends,

I promised more on the wedding and I am sad to say I don't have any great pictures until the professional ones come back, but can come up with a few.  I really didn't take many pictures because of the photographer and I really just wanted to be present.

We drove down on Wednesday to Pennsylvania. The wedding was held in Philadelphia, the city they fell in love in and where "b" is from. We all stayed in a posh hotel in Phildelphia, Hotel Palomar. Check out the site if you wish. It was just lovely and very trendy. (I know why the kids picked it)
First of all the rooms were so lovely and the architecture out our windows were fabulous. Also it was a dog friendly hotel which I had never heard of in a fancy place. One afternoon they had Santa and people could have their dogs come for treats and pictures. I did take a few pics of that!!
We met up with our son and "b" and her parents. So nice to meet up in advance when things were low key and we could just enjoy each other. At one point the guys went off and purchased the beverages for the rehearsal dinner and the ladies had mani/pedi's, afternoon wine and app's. Then we meet up with the gents and had a fun dinner.

Friday was hair day and getting things set for the rehearsal dinner and all the other relatives and kids flying in. Then by 7pm all our "chicks" were in Philly and we had a super time at Audrey Claire. That is where we hosted the rehearsal dinner for 44 people. It's a small city chic restaurant in Rittenhouse Square. The food is a little different as far as how they prepare the it, awesome for all the young foodies in our family.

Saturday was the wedding day but not until 7pm, So everyone explored Philadelphia and did whatever they wanted to. We walked all around the city, saw William Penn on top of City Hall, went to an indoor's farmer market, did a little shopping and visiting. Some went to museums, there are many in Philadelphia. One famous one the Art Museum where "Rocky" climbed the stairs!
Around 5pm pictures were taken at the hotel. The kids then took off for photo shoots elsewhere and all of us gathered in the lobby to take a school bus to the restaurant where the wedding would take place and reception to follow. DID I NOT TELL YOU THIS WAS NOT A TRADITIONAL WEDDING in anyway, BUT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, LOVING, FUN and DELICIOUS.
The celebration was held at DISTRITO at Mexican restaurant. It was so nicely decorated and the food was exceptional.
We were all welcomed at the restaurants with margarita's etc and a cocktail hour before the "KIDS" arrived. Everyone was so happy and excited for "j & b" to arrive.
They made their entrance and the wedding happened. They had a best friend marry them and they had their vows, KISS, 1st dance......and then the party started. It was just beautiful and they planned it all down to all the little details. Party favors were sun glasses, that you will see......... We all danced until the last beat and the school bus took us back to the hotel. That was it for the old people but not for the youngens.

Sure slept that night and my feet were throbbing but it was all worth it!!! Brunch on Sunday ended the wedding weekend. Most people had flights out that afternoon, BUT we had a snow storm and no one got off. They had all checked out of the hotel gone to the airport and were all back by midnight, hotel rooms booked again. They all got a little sleep then back to the airport to get flights again. All were home by midnight on Monday.  It did make a bit of stress for everyone, but all that is forgotten and the beautiful memories of "j & b" 's wedding is highlighted in our hearts.
We drove home on Monday so the storm never affected us, we were happy about that.

So how 'bout a few nonprofessional pictures off the whole weekend.

Love is in the Air ~Part 1~

Oh my, it's been awhile! So much has been going on and all related to family! Wow, what could be better then that?!!

We had a beautiful, wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving. I was the host and cook, but not bottle washer!! We laughed, ate and drank to our hearts content.
Actually I did have help in the kitchen, as all the kids have become young adults it is such a pleasure to have all of them in the kitchen........and you know what they are all better cooks than myself, I am happy and sad to say. (mostly happy)

We only had 7 people, so a much smaller gathering then other Thanksgivings. BUT that was all because of the upcoming wedding WHERE everyone was TOGETHER.

A few peeks of Turkey Day and all we are thankful for......Family❤

Apple Pie made by Amy and Andy

Thanksgiving setting and a bewildered daughter (laugh out loud)

First carving of 14lb turkey........husband very sad I didn't get larger bird, maybe 24lb for 6 meat eating people........oh yes, he's a funny one!

Oh yes, we had all the fixings, the poppers were popped, the crowns worn and goofyness started. Can't get any better then that!!!! Love was in the air!

I think I will have to call this Part 1 of "Love is in the Air"   My computer is so slow downloading pictures......and I do have work to do........so my loves, I will be back with wedding, Christmas and projects, very soon, I promise.

Thanks for letting me share my world with all of you, I know I love seeing your worlds too!

~Part 2 coming soon~
