Good Morning

Good Morning to all of you!

It is a beautiful lovely day here in Vermont. Sunny, clear, crisp and the 1st day of Fall!

I hate to see the summer gone, I love being able to go outside without a sweater or jacket and without having to think what the temperature is, just hot, no worries. Now it's a little chilly and we all need a sweater or hoodie at least for a few hours. BUT you know WHAT it is lovely. IT's invigorating, happy, colorful, and the smell is fall like. Makes me think of baking and hiking through crispy leaves, the sounds of fall are so unique. I hear the geese flying south in their "V" and it makes me know it's time to bundle up. It makes me want to get my sweaters out and my yarn and needles clicking!
SO Fall is Spendid and not to be dreaded......(now long winters are different but lets not go there.)

I think we all need to make an apple crisp or pie. We can pick our own apples at a nearby orchard, get them at the farmers market (where I will get mine on Saturday), food store or roadside stand. Nothing like a crunchy apple and a weekend walk with friends, family, dog or just alone. Jack is always my buddy and Hb on weekends. How 'bout a carmel apple or candy red apple, love 'em all!  Boy, Fall is sounding great, don't you think? How about a crackling fire and a glass of wine or hot apple cider, some music or a good movie. Sign me up, I think I can be ready for Fall. What do you think??

I have been up to Bunting making. I have sold two in my Etsy shop and had to add a few more. I have been having fun with fabrics and my trusty sewing machine. I have a newish Viking Husqvarna Sapphire 830 and I just love it. I know I don't use it to its capacity but that's Ok; Maybe someday.

                                                                 Unisex Baby Bunting

                                                                 Baby Girl Bunting

Anyone who has made Buntings knows how fun they are and addictive to make!! I make tiny ones the flags measure 3.5" X 4", I think just perfect for a baby or toddler.
You can see more pictures in my Etsy shop if you care to. etsy.com/shop/robinsnest

I'm off to household jobs and hopefully some sewing. I wish you all a wonderful day and weekend. Hope the weather is pleasant wherever you live and you have sunny happy times!

Thank as always for visiting I love your company and warm hearts.

My Little Lady

First, I want to thank you all for your love, support, and kind words. Believe me, it really helped pull me thought this visit. It was so emotional and painful. My mom has her little dog, Gretel, that would not be able to come to the nursing home and when she realized she could not come, it was heart wrenching. A dear friend down the street would take the dog and have her visit often. It's not the same, but definitely the second best solution. The assisted living home is very beautiful, clean, friendly, has good care and many activities. I think she would love it, but the question is whether she will be able to get into this part of the facility or have to be in the dementia part. She will be having an evaluation once we make our decision. Boy, life is tough. If only she could come up my way, but all the family is down there so it is what she knows and feels comfortable with. But I'm still investigating the availability in my area. This visit was the first time she didn't recognize me on a few occasions. She called me "Marty", her closest and dearest girlfriend from kindergarden. At first, I thought she was joking with me but then I realized she wasn't. I had been dreading the day this would happen. But, at least it was Marty, a special loved one.

Take a look at "my little lady"

New Hair Do

Who doesn't feel better after going to the hairdresser!?!

Total Sweetness

That's my update for now. I hope to try to settle down a bit until the next step and decision making. I think I have had a stress headache for a week now. I need to make something and be creative. It always restores me. But I have work and bills to pay instead, so Wednesday will be my R & R day!!

Thanks for stopping in my friends. It really makes me happy and especially at this time.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Be Back!

Hi All,
Off to visit my mom. She has not been that well and things are declining.  I feel I will need lots of strength and well wishes to get through this visit. My brother and I will be looking at nursing homes and it is breaking my heart. So I will see you all, in a weeks time.

Take care, thank you for visiting and all your kindness.

Jingle Yo-Yos

I love yo-yos!

I remember yo-yo dolls with bells from childhood! Do you? They were similar to clowns and made with lots of yo-yos in all different colors and fabrics and bells. A great scrap fabric project. I had an idea to make some yo-yos just for fun. And boy did I have fun and some nostalgia!
Soooo one thing lead into the next and I came up with a Jingle yo-yo keychain!
I am quite smitten with it and had to make more!
Now I am featuring them in my Etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/robinmurray, take a peek if you have time : )

I think they would make great gifts, a little something for a teacher, a topping for a big gift, or just a remembrance for a friend, maybe a stocking stuffer, OR for the keys to a NEW CAR!!!! (or shed or bike keys)

Here's the new yo-yo makers they are selling now. Very easy and fun to use.

Basicly pick fabrics, measure, cut, clip in form, cut, sew, pull and tie off...........

                                                                             Yo-yo

Here are a few more and more pictures in my Etsy Shop

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this old-fashion craft and my new creation.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day Weekend. Here in the USA we celebrate this holiday. Normally, the last long weekend before school starts, but now-a-days some start before Labor Day and it is not popular!!!

I hope to enjoy this weekend and plan to drink one two of these

My first Pimm's Cup #1                                                                                 It was so delicious and a UK favorite. I always wanted to have one and it was offered at a local cafe.
I was sold with the first sip.

Enjoy my friends, xoRobin

ScHoOL SuPpLiEs

School Supplies and anything involving paper, pens, and organizers, that is ME!
I still love them all. Every August/September I feel like I need to get organized and settle in, like I'm going back to school, like the kids! Funny 'cos my kids are long past all of this! I guess somethings you never outgrow.
So what got me started on this a little earlier in this year.  I had to go to Staples (an office supply store for my UK friends) for some mailing envelopes and then, of course, I had to wonder around. There  was this section that catch my attention! Oh, the colors and styles and selection, I knew I was in heaven.

Here look what trouble I got into

So you are looking at all Martha Stewart supplies. All in my favorite colors at the moment. Note: the pen is a different purchase the day before a local card and gift store in my town. (also my colors)

Paper, stickers, labels, plastic pouch for binder

Red three ring binder, post its and sticky markers

Note: lovely coaster from my Finland friend, Mia at miashandmade.blogspot.com
Take a peek, she has a lovely blog and Etsy shop.

Can't forget my divider pages, see the ones in the middle

Now I will get them all put together and start using them and having fun with my calendar, projects, to do lists, ideas and then shhhhhhh my Christmas list (sorry Viv)

So who else is like me??? I know there must be some nerdy people like me, but don't want to admit it. That's OK. I loved sharing my love with all of you and I wish you all a wonderful week!

I leave you with my Fall basket of mums and ornamental peppers! My summer basket of nasturtiums,  lobelias, and petunias faded away, so I had to bite the bullet and make my fall basket. : (

Thanks for your visit as always, xoRobin

HI HOO....has it really been a month

Oh my, how a month does fly!

I have missed you all. I have been on vacation, had one 6yr old granddaughter for a week and gotten back into the swing of normal everyday living. I have to admit I'm more a fan of vacation! I will post some summer Martha Vineyards pictures. We had the best weather. Lots of relaxing and reading happened. Along with swimming, walks along the beach, swims for Jack too, and great food and spirits. Aside from wine and beer as summer drinks, my husband and I love a "Dark and Stormy"! Do you know what that is? Well, let me tell you it is Ginger beer and rum and lots of fresh lime and ice. Rum goes in last and it looks like a storm, some drink it like that, but I mix it so it doesn't go straight to my head (as fast)!!!!! We love them with lobster rolls and homemade chips or fried clams, cole slaw, and chips. Doesn't get any better, except sitting on a stool and looking out at Vineyard sound and watching the boats and ferries coming in! Heaven shear heaven!

Eating and Viewing, so pretty and peaceful

Arriving ferry and ecstatic vacationers and vacationers mourning the end of their holiday, but can't wait to return!

Our new largest ferry "Island Home" It has a second layer, a car lift level. I have gotten it twice and it's a bit scary to be up there, it's a little shaky.

I don't know it you can see this or not, but the yacht with the helicopter on it is Oprah's!!!! Yes, it is, I haven't seen her but she keeps her lovely boat here in Vineyard Haven, MV.

Beautiful wooden sail boats in the harbor

Lots to see, do, and of course shopping

We did some serious planting rosa rugosa and stone work

Planted a couple of my favorite hydrangeas and lilies. We have to try to protect them from the deer. This is a succulent buffet for them!!!!

Look at these peaches, not mine but beautiful nonetheless!!

Jack at the Vineyard house in his favorite cubby hole!! He loves to be up against a wall, he's so funny and handsome!

Here are my little munchkins visiting.  "E" (the top picture) turned 4 and we had a little celebration. Abby spent the week with us!

Abby and I made the cupcakes. Always a fun activity!! "E"or "Lizzy" needed help with the candles so Abby obliged. Note: in PJ's for bed not morning!!!

If you remember cady, well he is still a big part of Abby's life, sooooo Poppy had to come up with a cady too!!!! Nothing like a wool sock and some string!

Just a little peek into my missing month of blogging, now back to weeding and life. LOOK at this huge, scary, and amazing spider and web.

I think it's called a zig zag web and spider and it is frightful.

Okay, I don't want to leave you with that picture! I want to thank you for visiting me and not giving up on my blog. I do so love posting and all your visits and comments. Thank you so much for your support and friendship. I am blessed to have all of you, I cherish the friendships and all of you and your lovely blogs. I try to keep up with all your blogs, sometimes successfully but not always for that I apologize!

I wish all of you a wonderful weekend with lots of love, laughter and fun!

Five Cows MOOOO

Baa Baa Sheeps and Welcome Cows! Miss my sheep but have to welcome these five cows to the neighborhood. I have to say it is so nice to have something in the fields again. I really missed my afternoon walks seeing the sheepies and now I get to check up on the cows. There are 2 taupe cows and 3 white, one of which is a baby or adolescent.

Here they are.....

                                                                       All Five

                                                                        Youngster

                                                                            Big Guy

                                                                       Pretty Cute

I don't think Jack knows what to think.

As you can see, we have been having some lovely weather. I hope it continues because we are off tomorrow for a much needed vacation. My hopes are lots of relaxation, good food, good books, lots of ocean swimming, walks on the beach and laughter everyday rain or shine. Who wouldn't drink to that.......oh right, some wine and bubbly!!!!

I have been making some special order crochet hooks lately, working, and just enjoying the summer. Kids have been visiting, cookouts have been happening and my favorite roasting marshmallows!!!

I hope you all have been enjoying the summer. I know all my friends in the UK have not had the best summer weather, I do hope it gets better for all of you. I am sending you some sunshine and warmth!!!

Well, my friends just wanted to say hi and pop in before I am missing for the next few weeks. I will take lots of pictures and share them when I return. Thank you for visiting, it makes me SmiLe    : )
