One Month

One month ago today I posted, how can that be......

Yes, it's been busy and many balls up in the air but I wish I could have posted more. I don't want my blog to die. Hang in there with me my blogging friends. So this is what has been happening in the past month.

1. Had "A" and "E" for 5 glorious days. Lots of play and imagination happened.

Well, this is what I have been up to. Thank you for following me through the list of activities, I hope I didn't bore you too much. I love to document my life and blogging is a wonderful way to do this, but the best part has been meeting and following all of you. Getting there

Slowly..........Getting some things accomplished, making some headway! I'm not really pushing myself, I don't think, but I am never not busy. Things to catch up on, bills to pay, phone calls to make, thank you's to get out, daily chores and family......it all takes so much time. BUT I'm getting a few things finished along the way.

I made a batch of Strawberry Jam to go along with the Raspberry Jam I made a few weeks ago. It is delightfully delicoius. I can't decide which I like best, it's 50/50 with family members!

Next on my try to finish list was my second and youngest granddaughters American Girl doll sweater. Over the summer I knit and knit, off and on, during the summer.....and it occurred to me why was this taking so long to finish a doll sweater. Finally I finished the front and back and realized it was so wide it could have fit two dolls. I worked the sleeves and had to do some major adjustments......not fun!
So it looked like this

Can you see how wide the sweater is.....I think two American Girl dolls could wear this. So I had to do a lot of fudging and zig zag stitches and then cut my extra knitting off.

But the end result I'm pleased with :  )    But I'm not happy about how I had to do it......if it were for a real person I would have started over!

Fall is here in my part of the world. Let me show you in photos...........

Here is an update of the farm animals down my lane.

There are 3 baby lambs, 9 grown sheep, 5 baby calves, 4 cows and 2 pigs. I feel so lucky to have this a short walk away. I see them everyday with my walks with Jack. Jack thinks he is so tough and runs for them. Of course his back hair is standing on edge, he is really a big baby, but I won't tell him!!

Hi my faithful followers,

Many many thank you's for your lovely words and prayers for Boston. Shortly after I posted the 2nd suspect was caught and now we wait for answers and justice. We will all continue to pray for the injured and all families involved. Boston really came together and it was so inspiring to see.
                                                  "BOSTON STRONG"


I had two daughters who were flying in and out of Boston on Saturday so I was more then a bit cautious and apprehensive. But thank the Lord all went well and now for a bit I feel a little bit more at ease. We will be flying on Saturday so I'm having faith all will be fine. You just don't know what lies ahead, so we have to cherish every moment and be grateful. That's what I try to do.


Ok, now I have to move on and show you what I've been up to with my needles. My oldest granddaughter "Abby" just turned "7".  I can't believe that little one is 7. She is really getting into her American Girl doll now, so you know what that means. Yes, sweater, clothes made by "knitting nannie".  I have made so far a hooded sweater for "Abigail" the doll and one is on the needles for a matching sweater for Abby. Then I will made a skirt and top and pants! So much fun to have grandchildren!❤!

Here is the hooded cardi in a lovely purple with pompom yarn around hood and sleeves. *please note a nose in the picture, Jack just has to be part of everything :  )

Next is "Fudge" the bunny to try on the hoodie, I don't have the dolly here. *please note a nose again!

It fits and isn't Fudgie cute!

            Next project plant my old fashion flower seeds. I just adore these oldies but goodies!
