Happiness in little bits

Hi there friends, Great to pop in again before vacation. It's raining now so hopefully next week will be hot and sunny, good beach and outdoor weather! I've been in summer mode and it is lovely. Just a little of this and a little of that each day, all manageable and mostly stress free.

Had a very excited weekend with the bride to be and daughter looking for wedding gown in Boston. We had three appointments and they went really well. The places were so helpful and the selections were fabulous. Amy had certain designers she wanted to look at and she was happy with the choices............and she found her wedding gown by the end of the day. We celebrated after and had a lovely time in the city. I can't show you the dress, but I will show you one of the dresses, let me find one.

Here is a pretty one ❤

Any family looking on......this is not the dress!!!!

Next will be bridemaids dress shopping and mother of the bride, That's ME!

Next little bit of fun was a little shopping I did on etsy for ribbon/tape. These items came from Taiwan in only about 7 days, amazing!

Lots of fun for adornments on sewing projects and yarn too.

Aren't they fun? I can add to pincushions, labels for knitting, I think the sky's the limit.

Peonies and indigo are in bloom and very plentiful!

This is Mountain Laurel and one of my favorite flowers on a shrub

                                                        My salmon colored Poppies

Bush beach roses and the aroma is delicious

Thanks dear friends for visiting, that's all my news. I will be off for a week soon. So I may be missing from blogland. But I will catch up when I can. Hope everyone has good days and happy moments!

2014 January❤

Happy New Year Dear Bloggers!

Where have I been?  I have been here, yes, just catching up, enjoying family, holidays and trying to just be. Everything has been so festive and so many wonderful family times! We actually spend Christmas 24th and 25th in Boston! Yes, it was certainly different but, oh, so nice. Due to the wedding in early December and everyone being together we couldn't get people together again until the 27th and weekend. ( have to share the kids with their in-laws, boyfriends parents etc)
So we had the brilliant idea to spend the two days in the city. It was so lovely, we stayed at the FOUR SEASONS HOTEL and were so indulged with all the luxuries you can imagine. We walked the city all bundled up, it was seasonally freezing. We had Christmas Eve dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant, PF Changs. We brought an artificial tree and decorated it in our room and opened a few presents. (all arranged by my husband, yes he's a sweetheart)  We walked to midnight mass at the most beautiful church, "Trinity" in Boston. Walked back to the hotel and had the best sleep. Christmas morning was so stunning. We woke to looking out at The Boston Common and a fabulous breakfast in the Four Seasons dining room. The Common was calling us so we walked on Christmas morning to visit the Ducklings and even a market open on Christmas morning! The city is so exciting and a whole different way of life. Yes, I know it was different but I think we made the best of not having the kids actually on Christmas day!!! We had FUN
We then spent the rest of the day with Hb sisters and family. We always have so many laughs,  delicious food and love.

Here are an assortment of photos

Crazy sad week in Boston

Hello all,

I'm sure most of you know of the Marathon bombing in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday! Monday is Patriots Day in Massachusetts, it is a time when runners, families, friends and visitors from all over come to run, observe and support their families and friends. This was Boston's 117th marathon and always a joyous and friendly gathering until this Monday. Two bombs went off near and at the finish line, three were killer and 170+ injured. It has all been a crazy and insane senseless act and we are all suffering the loss to our city. I love Boston and lived in the suburbs of Boston for 32 years, before moving to Vermont. It's so hard to fathom the extended of the horror, damage and pain this has brought. Measures have identified the two suspects and they were found. A chase occurred and one was shot, but one is still at large.  This hunt will continue until he is caught. Boston is in shutdown mode while the search is on for the safety of all Boston's residents and workplaces. WE ALL HOPE AND PRAY IT WILL BE OVER SOON.

Boston is strong, the people are strong and no one is giving up. They say this will make us stronger and it has in the way that everyone has come together with love, support and manpower. The doctors and local hospitals have all been superb. Please send your prayers to all involved and pray for an end to all the senseless evil happening that are occurring more and more everywhere.

Thanks for visiting, so sorry it is not a happy post, but unfortunately we have to deal with all kinds of events in our lives, this is real and has to be attended to. Just had to talk about it. Thank you for listening.

I send my love to all of you, xoRobin
