More knitting and crocheting

Hello my lovely bloggers,

I've been on a mission of making and finishing all yarn projects and having so much fun! I have actually been making time each day just for me and it feels so good!

Thanksgiving is almost here in the U.S., so I have been baking and prepping for the big day on Thursday! Lots of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas and all the naughty pies and cakes will be consumed! Can't wait. We will have TEN this year which is almost everyone minus three who can't be with us this year.  I will share photos after our Thanksgiving.

I purchased a wonderful pattern from Cherryheart called "Peek-a-boo" Blanket.
It was so much fun to crochet and I made it to match a baby hat I had knit, here's a "peek"

As you can see, I used Sirdar yarn, nice to work with, love the color!!

This is the knitted baby hat, with a motif by the talented kiwi yarns

                                                              Blanket with border

all ready for a baby gift

This really was a fun blanket to make and can be made in larger sizes also. This is Pram size 31"x22" with border.

Next up will be some mitten making for my granddaughters, but I will have to start after Thanksgiving.

This is the yarn and pattern

I'm excited to knit them up with this beautiful yarn

So as I said I have baking some yummy sweets, meringues, peanut butter kisses, Toll House cookies and two batches of cranberry orange relish......yummy goodness!

                                                     Meringues and chocolate chips

                                                    Peanutbutter kisses

                                                                     Cranberry Relish

Tomorrow I pick up the 24lbs turkey, YIKES, then more chopping and prepping. I loved sharing all my recent busy days with all of you. Thanks so much for visiting me here.  I wish you all a peaceful week and weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends ❤️

Flowers Knitting Baking

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is having a great start to the week. We had cold temperatures this weekend but we had SUN. It was so nice to see the blue sky, despite the cold weather. I have been seeing Robin's too. Did they forget to fly south?! It's way to early for Spring here, I just don't know, anyone else seeing Robin's who are living in a cold climate.
I have lots of photos to share with you today.
I have been enjoying my orchids of late, they are all doing so well and thriving in one particular window. If they aren't in bloom then there are buds. It so exciting. Here have a look

Take a close look and you will see the buds too.

Here is my Amaryllis from the first bloom to the fourth and there is actually one more hiding!!

I decided to start a sweater for myself. I had an urge to make a sweater that could be a "go to sweater" and have a little challenging stitch also. This is a lovely pattern with a garter stitch and a Trinity stitch. The stitch is like a pompom and so much fun to make. I'm taking my time in making this and it is becoming a very relaxing project. It you are interested in the pattern let me know and I will let you know where you can find it.

In the winter I get much more domestic and enjoy cooking and baking. I have recently used my bread maker and made a delicious loaf of bread. Take a peek

                                                             So easy and so yummy!

Look what my lucky Jack got from the kitchen. Made on Sunday! My Hb would have rather enjoyed some cookies for humans!!! Can't blame him.....he has to wait for ❤ Day.

                                                            Don't these biscuits look hearty

I'm also reading a new book, "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. It is good so far, but I have a long way to go. Anyone else reading this or another good book?

Well, that's all for now. We are scheduled to get more snow on Thursday, so I will be busy with my errands before then, if I get stuck inside! Family coming this weekend and "Little's" staying for a few more days. Happy Nannie and Poppy!!
Thank you for following me and being interested in my blog. I enjoy all of you and all your sweet comments. Take care, stay warm and craft on!!

Abby + Lizzie = Fun

Yes indeed, nothing in life is as great as a week with your grandchildren. We had such fun! Got into all kinds of mischief, made lots of messes, watched lots of movies, make cookies, went swimming, played at the children's museum, played in the snow, had tea parties, stayed up late, got Nannie to read lots of books, got new toys, and laughed until our belly's ached.

The pictures can tell the story..............

                                         Museum play with giant bubbles

                                          Cookie making and decorating

This is a snippet of our wonderful week. I really thought I took more pictures but these are the best.

Seen then I have been sick and this is what I have been doing

Lots of tea and Kleenex

I think I am better but my cough is just terrible and I can't sleep at night due to the coughing. Nothing seems to help once the tickle starts.

But I am walking better and not in pain, so I think I  will make it!

Well, I promised a picture of my new bangs. Thanks for visiting and thank you to all my friends and all my new followers. I NOW HAVE 100 FOLLOWERS!!!!!
