Suggestions Please

Hello friends old and new,

I need help! I spend hours and hours and days and months on this foolish cowl neck wrap and I can't even figure out how to wear it.
I blocked it overnight, seemed to block nicely. Then I unpinned it, folded it and it looked so nice. I love the pattern and it was fun to make, BUT it looks silly on. What am I doing wrong any suggestion? Do I need to block again or just let it be??? As soon as I put it on and played with the cowl it started curling again : (

SO disappointed this was suppose to be a Ta TAHHHHHH moment

OK here are some pics.

                                                             What's a girl to do??????

It looked so lovely until I put it on
Any and all suggestions welcome!

Ok, enough that's move on. I want to show you some of my purchases while in Pennsylvania visiting
my mom. We had a few fun shopping adventures in a paper store called Paper Source. (one of my favorite places to shop) Anything involving paper, card stock, stamps, pens etc. I find so exciting, it just makes me sooooo happy. Weird, right!!  It's right up there with yarn and fabric and craft shops!

Lots of fun! Darling coin pouch with mushroom, stamping alphabet and ink pads, mini love paperclips, and paper tape! Oh, the things I can make :  )

Well, that's all for how. Thank you in advance if you have any tips for me and my cowl dilemma.

Love love your comments and visits. Happy last day of January and February here we come!

A Small Ta Dahhhhhh

Hi My Friends,

Popping in to show you my small finished knitting project and some purchases. I have wanted to make them for sometime now. The time came upon us so fast due to our Nor'easter, so I knit knit  knit and came up with these. They are made for my walks with Jack because I like to have my fingers free for picture taking. The most amazing part is how I made them, want to guess.......no I will tell you. I used 8" long size 4 needles and developed the most cramped thumb joints........but I did it. Next time I will go back to my dp needles.

OK here they are:

Can you see how my hands suffered. I'm glad I tried them though.

They are so soft

Can you may see a little discrepancy in the two.........yes, I did make a boo boo but it's Ok, my next pair will be better and also be for a gift. So I learned on my own, I like it that way!!

The yarn is Cascade Yarn "Cloud 9". It is made in Peru, 50% wool and 50% Angora. The Frost Heave 1/2 mitts are made with one skein, 109 yards. Isn't that fabulous! I can't share the pattern I don't think, I always get nervous about that. Does anyone know the rules. I payed for it, so I'm thinking I can't share and it is a shop pattern.

Well, The other day I needed to get out and about so I took myself on a little day trip. I drove about an hour and half to a new town I hadn't explored yet. I had heard there was a great yarn shop and oh my, I was not disappointed, here is the link:  www.greenmountainfibers.com/our_yarns Take a peek if you dare!

So want to see my haul, sure you do.............

This I think will be mittens

This lovely yarn is self striping and I think will be a Shawl

This lovely alpaca 70% and wool 30% is so lush. This will be hats and scarves

For buying so much I was given this hand lotion made by the nice people at this shop. It is sold there because it is important to keep our hands smooth for knitting and it won't spill in our knitting bags.

I also roamed around town and found some fun things. A button tin and button holiday wrap

A fun polka dot clip board, pad and new pen. Such fun for a dork like me!! Now I am ready to make my lists and check them twice.

I want to thank you all for taking the time to visit. I hope you had some fun, I know I always enjoy all your visits and comments. Hope you all have a relaxing weekend filled with  happiness, laughter and love. Be back soon❤

Times are Changing!

Thank you my lovely friends,

I thank you so much for all your concerns and thoughtful comments on my family's safety and well-being due to Hurricane Irene. I truly appreciated all your wishes and ideas!

Boy, fall is indeed coming. Look at all the changes around here. I have been decorating for this transition!

                                           Apples, hydrangea, sunflowers, mums, mat

Trees are starting to change also, have not taken any pictures yet! It has still been raining, but not at the moment. Thankfully!!

I had the "best" day yesterday.  I am normally scheduled to work on Wednesday, but my day was cancelled by the office I work in. So instead of pouting and complaining I got to go shopping with my daughters. They were not what made my day that special though (but of course I loved seeing them).....it was my granddaughter "A" who we went shopping for. Today was her 1st day of kindergarten! Hard to take in, but so great to buy her some school clothes and have her pick them out. She definitely knows what she likes, and you know what she has good taste. My daughter sent a phone photo and she looks so adorable. Here are few pictures from yesterdays shopping spree and lunch out at Rainforest Cafe.

That's "A" so big for Kindergarten today!

Here are some of my personal purchases

Books, I love books, The Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen is the best children's book. I love to have books at the house for when the little girls come, pretty bowls (portion control), and my dessert, cupcake injected with vanilla ice cream!     ❤YUMMY❤

So it was quite the day. I left at 8 am and returned home 8:30 pm. Four and a half hours were driving, but it was so worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for stopping in and visiting. Love to see you and your messages. Be back soon. Take care and smile lots.

Jack would say hi and good bye BUT look what he's doing and the position!

Wish I could be that relaxed
