February Vacation with A&E

I have been wanting to find the time to share our fabulous vacation week with our two granddaughters, Abby and Lizzy.

We had such a great time and really enjoyed every moment with these two, ages 10 and 8.

As you can see on Sunday we visited an alpaca shop and the alpacas were a must to visit!
We also sampled Cabot cheese and chocolates all from Vermont.

On Monday we had a trip to Michael's to get all sorts of crafts for the week ahead, I didn't say no to anything, our cart was full. Wait to you see all our creations!!

We had some fun in the store as you can see!

Just some of our crafts and goodies!

Lizzy started this Easter scene and had a great time. She did it all herself and it wasn't that easy, especially when many of the plastic pieces popped out...but she keep at it.

Really cute, we used it as our centerpiece on the table while they were here.

Lizzy even used the extra pieces and make a picture  :  )

Next up we used tons of my button supply to make button flowers. I really liked this.....getting to use buttons what could be better.

Jars and bottles were used and colored wire from Michaels and another craft shop. Toadstools were also from "M" in the fairy department!

                                                          Few more different angles

                                                           This was Abby's flower bouquet

                                                           Mass production

Then we spent two days skiing, and got them both skiing and on the chair lift. WOW

                                                                        Memories

We did some sewing in Nannie's sewing room

                                                          Of course Alpaca fleece

                                                                    TA-DAAAA

Lizzy made Lemon Tarts, oh my were they good!

Abby made dinner, turkey in peppers, guacamole, beans and rice. And so well executed!

The happy Chefs.....note fancy drinks too!
                                                           We were Happy too!

There was some pillow making for dear old Ellie

                                                                           ELLIE
                                                             (dearly loved for 8 years)

Of course Jack had a good time too

We always go to the Children's museum and it's always interesting and fun

That just about sums up the week, minus a few activities like snowshoeing, movie watching and cuddles.

Thanks for visiting and reading through to this busy, active and memorable week. Love to see all of you here. THANK YOU

xoRobin and Jack (he made me include him)

LAST Catch up and moving on..........

Hello to All you Lovely Ladies!

So I am still getting my blog up to date with the end of December festivities and New Year's. I hope to get all caught up after this post. How did this happen....I don't know.....maybe the wedding...... maybe just me!

So OUR Christmas was on the 27th of December with all the kids we could gather. It was also my birthday amd my last one in my 50's. How can that be, well I tell myself, "it is what it is"! Happy to be able to be here, to talk about.........
Then after the lovely Christmas weekend, we had our two granddaughters, Abby and Lizzie for a few more days. It was so much fun and we even had New Year's Eve together, which you will see in photos. The littles wanted to eat in the dining room and stay up late. SO they stayed up till 9:30, and we made it till 10:00. Real night owls this group. I've never been a New Year's Eve fan, I like to be home, have fun food, make a toast whenever and be with the one you love or in this case "granddaughters" too!  I'm not much for New Year resolutions either because I think each day is a new day and we can all try to do our best each day, anyway. Well, enough of all this, how 'bout some photos!

                                                                      and Abby 7 years

One Christmas craft made by Lizzie and Nannie's help

My son Ted and his dog Zoey  (and of course jealous Jack)

Jack takes a lot........during the little girls visits

Getting ready for New Year's, girls had fun making table settings

My new tea mug and dish towels, if I can dare to dirty them

Part 2 Fun!

I'm back to share Abby's 6th birthday party and her week with me (Nannie) and Poppy. I can't tell you how happy I am to have had my kids at a young age, because it takes all your strength, and that's with good children!

Her party was at the Town Hall where you can rent a room, so lots of space and they clean up, after you take back your decorations etc.

Here are a few pictures and activities

Before the party, Nannie watching them so Mommy and Daddy could get everything ready to go!

                                                                      Town Hall Room

Did I mention there were 18 children and most parents stayed!

                                                                        Birthday bunting

Activities:
Lots of hugging, craft table, musical chairs, pin the horn on the unicorn, smash the piñata, egg (plastic with beans in it) race (don't recommend), gifts, unicorn cake and dinosaur cake. They were both yummy.....how do I know, I had to taste both...Right!!
The kids had a great time. It was a 2 hour party which is plenty of time. If you know what I mean!

Then Miss Abby came and visited during the week because school was out for Spring break.
Here's a snippet of what we did.

Healthy breakfast, clay making, jewelry box decorating, bird house painting, to the park two days in a row (beautiful weather), and lots of coloring. Lots of fun! My goal was to not put the TV on too much and to get Abby tired. It worked for ME   : )
So it has been busy and now I am back to work tomorrow and life goes back to whatever "normal" is. Off to New York this weekend for a visit to see our daughter Leslie and her boyfriend. We are so excited to visit and see the "BIG APPLE". I will take lots of picture. Fingers crossed for good weather.

Thanks for visiting, loved sharing my weeks with you in 2 parts. Hope you leave a comment because I just love them!!!

Suggestions Please

Hello friends old and new,

I need help! I spend hours and hours and days and months on this foolish cowl neck wrap and I can't even figure out how to wear it.
I blocked it overnight, seemed to block nicely. Then I unpinned it, folded it and it looked so nice. I love the pattern and it was fun to make, BUT it looks silly on. What am I doing wrong any suggestion? Do I need to block again or just let it be??? As soon as I put it on and played with the cowl it started curling again : (

SO disappointed this was suppose to be a Ta TAHHHHHH moment

OK here are some pics.

                                                             What's a girl to do??????

It looked so lovely until I put it on
Any and all suggestions welcome!

Ok, enough that's move on. I want to show you some of my purchases while in Pennsylvania visiting
my mom. We had a few fun shopping adventures in a paper store called Paper Source. (one of my favorite places to shop) Anything involving paper, card stock, stamps, pens etc. I find so exciting, it just makes me sooooo happy. Weird, right!!  It's right up there with yarn and fabric and craft shops!

Lots of fun! Darling coin pouch with mushroom, stamping alphabet and ink pads, mini love paperclips, and paper tape! Oh, the things I can make :  )

Well, that's all for how. Thank you in advance if you have any tips for me and my cowl dilemma.

Love love your comments and visits. Happy last day of January and February here we come!
