Balls in the Air

Good morning dear friends and hello to any new visitors, I welcome you and hope you follow me.

Spring is still not here in Vermont, not even a tease!

In my world there are so many balls up in the air, I am managing by taking things day by day and at times hour by hour.......that's not to say things are bad, in fact, everything is so happy and exciting just  a lot at the same time.  If you are in my age bracket you know by now that, that is the way it normally works, "feast or famine"!
We have renovation happening at our vacation home in Martha's Vineyard which is so exciting. We had our first peek this past weekend and I was bubbling with excitement verging on goofiness! I was a real HGTV person in awe of the job that had been done. I normally can't picture the way something will turn out until I see it, I'm a very visual person. I can show you a peek to get the idea.

This is the back of the house with an added sunroom and expanded kitchen area in green. So our 800 square foot house will expand to 1400 sq. ft.  Also being added is a bathroom upstairs.
"My MV McMansion"

Inside peek, there is a lot of open space and cathedral ceilings. Hard to explain in this state. Have to wait until summer for the unveiling.

This was all so thrilling to see, but now I have to purchase so many light fixtures and get them down in time so I don't hold them up!!  It's a 4 hour drive and a 45 minute ferry ride, the drive is a bit much but I do love the ferry.
We are doing all this because we hope to spend half the year there when we are completely retired. Island life is so great and Jack loves it!

Wedding countdown 80 days away!!! Fittings to take place, invitations out, bridal shower in 2 weeks, gift bags etc.....all good stuff but a lot. I manage with my lists and lists and checking them off  :  )

Look what happened when we were at the vineyard

                                                         How cute is this?

The bridal shower is on April 20th and I'm almost ready for it with the help of all the girls in the bridal party and of course the two flower girls! (did I say there are 9 bridesmaids) Yup that's right!
The shower is at a restaurant and will be very nice and festive.

Now about Jack, I took him up to the surgeon vet. in Burlington, Vermont an hour and half away. It was an early appointment so we were up early. Good news he does not need surgery!! Thank you so much for your thoughts and concerns for my boy! He had a slight ACL tear, but not necessary for surgery because he was getting better on his own. Thank you Jack, I feel 4 thousand dollars richer. Yes that what it would have cost, but Jack is worth it :  )
Burlington, Vermont is on Lake Champlain and is so beautiful, still frozen. Here's a photo and yes it was cold.

People are still walking on the ice, but not ME! The mountains in the background are the Adirondack's in New York.

Jack resting on one of the sunnier days!

Well, my friends, I better get up and get something done, but wanted to talk to all of you! I won't be blogging as much as you can see, but I'm still here and will be reading all of your posts. Thank you for coming back post after post, I do love to see you and read all your comments.

Welcome Spring!

I say Welcome Spring with a wish and a promise because we do not have it "Yet"!!! Actually it is snowing on this first day of Spring. I will not loss hope because it will be here soon. See how optimistic I am :  )

I have been extremely busy lately with wedding plans as the wedding nears, only 3 months away. I have been shopping for MOB dress and found the perfect dress that I feel good in. It is long and navy blue and I am excited to wear it at Amy's wedding.  Bridal shower is next, April 12th, I got invitation out over a month ago and am now making buntings and gift bags. So many fun details, as many of you know. Sorry I can't show any pictures or ideas......shhhhh........it's all hush hush!

One daughter did have a big "30" birthday and I finished a quilt for her special day. Let me show you. It is tied not quilted and queen size.

Working on binding. Jack always is not far away from me as you can see....love the boy!

                                                     Draped and binding done

                                                     LABELS.......love labels

                                           Displayed on my bed

Folded and ready for birthday girl💕

Oh to be 30 again, it would be great but I'm happy where I am and have so much to be thankful for!

Next on this past weeks events, poor Jack was limping  and my Hb and I had to take him to an animal emergency here in our area. They think he may have torn his ACL (knee ligament). Oh dear, I have to take him to a specialist 1.5 hours away this coming Tuesday and may have surgery. Poor Jack, but he does have me bewildered because he is acting normal now and not limping!!!!

                                        At small animal emergency clinic

I will keep you posted after Tuesday's appointment.

This is what I long for again, hope you all are getting a taste of nice weather, spring flowers and lighter clothing!

Thanks for popping in and visiting me here. Love your sweet comments and visits. Be well 💕

Life goes on

Life goes on, just a little bit more complicated. We were all scheduled to have our bedroom bathroom renovated or shall I say demoed. Oh, it will be beautiful, but what a job to move and clear everything out alone and move it upstairs. (I should be really skinny) (not)   Our bedroom is on the 1st floor, so now we are upstairs and poor Hb has to go up at night and down in the morning on a cane. Not ideal, but we have had this in the works  "life does go on".
This master bathroom was here when we moved in 6 years ago and we have wanted to redo it ever since.

                                                                    Old bathroom

                                                                           DEMO

Ta Da moment in about a month, or so.  Can't wait...... lots of banging and slamming and disrupting my daily routine.  But it will be worth it I'm sure  :  )

Snow is finally disappearing here in New England. If you look hard you can see some green and buds. Look hard.........

Not a pretty sight but it will be soon.............

This is a pretty sight though, all wrapped up to visit with grandchildren for Abby's "8th" birthday.
Time sure does go by fast. We will go to the end of her kids party and then visit, play and have a meal. I take all the time I can get with them. They are going to Disney for Easter so we won't be seeing them then.

                          From this

               To this beautiful girl

These are the two sweaters I made being used!  :  )

Anyone who has grandchildren knows the joy that they bring. My heart is so full when I am with them and I can't wait to see them tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend planned or even a spontaneous adventure, walk, or relaxation. Thank you all so much for your kind comments for my husband, they helped in so many ways. Sorry if I haven't had a chance to comment this past week but time got away from me. I have missed a few I know.

Happy Spring, xoRobin

Random Assortment

Finally finished Goldfinch by Donna Tarrt while on holiday. It was good but way to long, the message at the end of the book was nice but that was the last 50 pages out of nearly 800 pages. Once I start a book I am not able to not finish it......it's just who I am, my Hb can't believe it!!! I always think I should keeping giving the book a chance,  it will get going soon, or it will get better soon......
Anyway, I'm happy I read it, I do continue to keep thinking about it so, I think it made an impression on me.
I just finished a book, Ripper by Isabel Allende, great suspense, serial killer book. That one I whiped through in a few days. Now on to Margot by Jillian Cantor, a novel about Anne Frank's sister, I'm enjoying it very much.
Always love having a book being read, something on my needles, something being sewn, and lots being planned in my head for my next project, then it's a good day!

Thank you all so much for all your well wishes for my husband. He is feeling better. All tests have come back negative so that is a relief. Every test/procedure he has had done I feel like I have had done too. I'm exhausted, but still all is good and we are feeling blessed. I sincerely appreciate all  your lovely comments and prayers. Thank you❤

My next baby hat is pink and ready for a little baby girl or to put in my Etsy shop.

Last December when our son got married I told you I would show a few pictures, well I have two to share. Oh, I do love them.....not the best photos from me because I took a pic of the pic, but you can enjoy anyway. They look so happy and adorable.

                                                                    "Young Love"

                                                                      "Love them"

So there you go as promised. Do wish the photos I took showed up better but they look great on our mantel.

Next up, trying to make SPRING come into our home even though we still have tons of snow outside.

                                                        Second life for my Amaryllis

I must get something done today, Saturday, I just had to say hello and visit with all of you dear blogger friends. Thank you again for all your well wishes for my husband.  I hope you have a weekend just the way you want it to be.  I appreciate you all.

Mostly Bunnies and Home

Hello Everyone, faithful followers and NEW. I thank you all for visiting and Welcome!

I'm back from visiting my mom and we had a lovely time together. It was a very relaxed visit with only one doctor visit and then lots of girlie time, mani and pedi's, hair do appt., shopping, and a few meals out. Mom was in heaven, I pooped her out and honestly she pooped me out too! Her health remains good and her dementia changes each visit, but always a sunny smile on her sweet face. There's nothing like your mom ❤

I have so much to show you, I don't really know where to start! I have been trying to get ready for Easter, we are having at least eight for the weekend. So lots of cooking, planning and beds to make up! Little girls are coming so there will be egg dying, easter baskets, egg hunt, and playing. For the big kids there will be easter baskets (never to old) and lots of yummy meals and probably some game playing.
I wanted to make something for the baskets for the little ones, so with the help and free pattern from the talented and delightful Julie from little cotton rabbits, I made these itty bitty bunnies.
Let me show you, I think I may be making small quilts, if I don't run out of time. I guarantee  you will want to make one, as you can see I couldn't stop at one.

FIVE LITTLE BUNNIES SITTING SO PRETTY

Teeny tiny buttons on little smocks

Easter baskets are ready, Jolly, Polly and Holly

I used this fuzzy yarn and it was difficult to knit and work with, so I designed a different bunny, Molly, with a cotton tail.....below

This was quicker to make, no limbs!

This is my sweet little baby bunny, named Dolly!

                                                                   Polly and Dolly

SOOOOO, who wants to make one, I think I could make more if time allows! I used DK yarn for
Polly, Jolly, and Holly. I used baby yarn for Dolly. The needles were 2.75mm (but you can use 3mm). I used a self striping sock yarn for the smocks and buttons from my stash. I used DMC thread for the eyes and nose and light fabric for interfacing on face. If you make one "ENJOY"!

I have also done a little shopping from some of my blogging friends and have fallen in love with my purchases and even was a giveaway winner.

Please see what I'm talking about ❤

Meet Betsy Buttons, my beloved purchase from Vivienne at Green Rabbit Designs. Isn't she lovely?!

Betsy Buttons joins my beloved "Trusty Rusty" pup. His nose is worn off from hugs.

❤BB up close, so precious and petite❤

Another beautiful purchase from Mia at Handmade by Mia. I love my blue Elephant and birdie, they bring me good luck!

Mia does such a beautiful job with her talents, up close with Hefner Heffalump and his best friend
 F. Uchcia the birdie!

A sweet Easter gift from my BFF, Patty! Carrot Bunny on my hutch bringing smiles and love to all!

Isn't "she" the best?!

Cath Kidston in her glory! I use this as my accessory carryall for my hooks, needles etc. Love all the patches and pins.

                                                                          Back side

                                                               Little cottage needle case

                                                            Tin for itty bitty buttons

AND I was a Winner!!!!!! From the lovely sweet and talented Mia! You might say I adore her hand makes!       "this is how it was presented"

A custom made JACK

Can you believe how perfect this is, my buddy JACK

Even the back is beautiful! Thank you Mia, best give away ever.
