Friends are the Best

Remember my friend Patty and her husband Dave, who was undergoing Chemo for  Lymphoma ....... WELL they came for a visit and it was wonderful! I'm so happy to report that Dave is doing so well and cancer free!!! We always have so much fun and just continue talking where we left off a year ago. We shopped and shopped and had tea and chats and just the best times. Dave is so patient with us and also keeps himself busy with his STUMP business, please take a peek Stump Creations.

Isn't this lovely?! Dave does such a wonderful job and they are all make to order!!! The web site shows so much more and all the possibilities.  I just love it, and it is so much fun to light.


We visited the Woodstock Inn in Woodstock Vermont and it was just so beautiful. Of course we went to the gift store and look at the lobby.

They left on Wednesday after a memorable visit as always and a promise to see each other again. And what did we see as they were heading out but our FIRST snow fall.

                                          Just a dusting but till the 1ST................





So after a little catch up with everyday errands, chores, and paperwork I was able to have a little time today to do a little knitting'.

Look what I have made for the coming cold weather..............

Your basic wrist warmers. Easy peasy cast on 40st., Knit one row, purl one row for 44 rows and bind off. Fold in half and sew up and decide where you want your thumb to come out, continue sewing up. I added crocheted edge and DONE. Fun and now I have walking wrist warmer's for my Jack walks!!!

Poor Jack had a run in with a bee and got stung. I didn't know it at the time but he came in the house salivating and very strange acting. He didn't want me to touch him and then I got worried. Trip to the vets. $105 dollars later and he is fine. I think I jump the gun but I was concerned. He's fine and back to his active self. Thank goodness, love my Jack :  )

Found this little treasure at my local store. Great for current dates and activities. Currently flu shot dates and our son's wedding this December!!!!!!

Mostly Bunnies and Home

Hello Everyone, faithful followers and NEW. I thank you all for visiting and Welcome!

I'm back from visiting my mom and we had a lovely time together. It was a very relaxed visit with only one doctor visit and then lots of girlie time, mani and pedi's, hair do appt., shopping, and a few meals out. Mom was in heaven, I pooped her out and honestly she pooped me out too! Her health remains good and her dementia changes each visit, but always a sunny smile on her sweet face. There's nothing like your mom ❤


I have so much to show you, I don't really know where to start! I have been trying to get ready for Easter, we are having at least eight for the weekend. So lots of cooking, planning and beds to make up! Little girls are coming so there will be egg dying, easter baskets, egg hunt, and playing. For the big kids there will be easter baskets (never to old) and lots of yummy meals and probably some game playing.
 I wanted to make something for the baskets for the little ones, so with the help and free pattern from the talented and delightful Julie from little cotton rabbits, I made these itty bitty bunnies.
Let me show you, I think I may be making small quilts, if I don't run out of time. I guarantee  you will want to make one, as you can see I couldn't stop at one.

I used this fuzzy yarn and it was difficult to knit and work with, so I designed a different bunny, Molly, with a cotton tail.....below

This was quicker to make, no limbs!

SOOOOO, who wants to make one, I think I could make more if time allows! I used DK yarn for
 Polly, Jolly, and Holly. I used baby yarn for Dolly. The needles were 2.75mm (but you can use 3mm). I used a self striping sock yarn for the smocks and buttons from my stash. I used DMC thread for the eyes and nose and light fabric for interfacing on face. If you make one "ENJOY"!




I have also done a little shopping from some of my blogging friends and have fallen in love with my purchases and even was a giveaway winner.

I got a haircut!!! I got bangs.........I really needed a change and it is. I keep wondering who it is in the

Look at my granddaughters as they celebrated Chinese New Year on Sunday!! Oh, how I love them.
I have them all next week for Nannie and Poppy time and their school break. Aren't we lucky?

Thanks and Bunting Love

Hi my dear friends and new followers, I thank you all for popping in.

First, "thank you" so much for all your well wishes for a safe and happy visit with my mom. I am home safety and it was a productive and heart warming visit. I am thankful and grateful for the time I get to be with her during this difficult time in her life.  Our families have all been supportive and comforting for my brother and myself. Her Alzheimer's is progressing, oh how, I wish they could find a cure or cause for this disease. I don't know who suffers more the patient or the family. But on a happier note, my mom is mostly happy and is so well taken care of, you can't ask for more then that! I feel very blessed to have come across such a wonderful agency and this caring live-in woman. It is so reassuring to know there're so many special people out there who have the skills and compassion for the elderly. It brings me hope for this world!


"So what about the Bunting Love"
 Well, I was doing some etsy surfing and came across this fun and fantastic ..........

I had to buy it. Anything with a Bunting on it whether fabric, plastic, glass.......I LoVe❤
I know I'm not alone by any means, I love bunting, like I love buttons and yarn and fabric.



So it came like this

                 Yes, it came from Thailand, and I think it took a month, but it was so worth it!!

Part 2 Fun!

I'm back to share Abby's 6th birthday party and her week with me (Nannie) and Poppy. I can't tell you how happy I am to have had my kids at a young age, because it takes all your strength, and that's with good children!

Her party was at the Town Hall where you can rent a room, so lots of space and they clean up, after you take back your decorations etc.

Activities:
 Lots of hugging, craft table, musical chairs, pin the horn on the unicorn, smash the piñata, egg (plastic with beans in it) race (don't recommend), gifts, unicorn cake and dinosaur cake. They were both yummy.....how do I know, I had to taste both...Right!!
The kids had a great time. It was a 2 hour party which is plenty of time. If you know what I mean!



Then Miss Abby came and visited during the week because school was out for Spring break.
Here's a snippet of what we did.

Healthy breakfast, clay making, jewelry box decorating, bird house painting, to the park two days in a row (beautiful weather), and lots of coloring. Lots of fun! My goal was to not put the TV on too much and to get Abby tired. It worked for ME   : ) 
So it has been busy and now I am back to work tomorrow and life goes back to whatever "normal" is. Off to New York this weekend for a visit to see our daughter Leslie and her boyfriend. We are so excited to visit and see the "BIG APPLE". I will take lots of picture. Fingers crossed for good weather.

Up Here!

Nothing to exciting happening here in the Upper Valley of Vermont! Not much snow, but lots of ice and cold temperatures. I like snow much better than ice. Many people have fallen and lots of people have colds and the Norovirus is hitting the schools. That is not a pleasant virus, it really gets the best of you, 24 hours but days to get back your strength. Luckily we have been fine. My mom fall but not on ice, right in her own kitchen. So I am off to visit and set up some help for her next week and a doctor visit or two are in the works. The distance is so difficult when your parent(s) get ill. I was just down 3 weeks ago but you have to do what you have to do, especially for family. Work has been great about letting me have the time off, I'm very fortunate.

So except for worrying a lot, making travel plans, paying bills before I go and working I haven't been doing too much. I finished one more Queen Anne's Lace scarf. I really do think it is lovely due to the beautiful Liberty Yarn. Let me show you.....

I have something else to show all of you. I have been watching my Orchids as they have been in hibernation for a few months and have been looking like this.

Now six of my orchids are in full bloom and look so lovely, a welcome bonus this time of year.

I have my new african violets in there too, but they are new. I put them in a round basket and am using it as my centerpiece for the kitchen table. Of course, we needed some candy hearts too! What's your favorite candy heart color and/or favor?
