Busy Busy, in a good way!

Oh dear, it's been awhile! But I'm still here in Blogland and having lots of crafty time here in Vermont. Good bye to September and Hello to October. We have had many many days of gorgeous weather. The Autumn has been colorful, sunny and warm. Absolutely no complains.
I have been working with fabric lately and enjoying every moment. I have been busy on instagram and that is so much fun. So many inspirational people, photos, and crafts. It opens up even more motivation!!!
I started seeing all these teeny tiny houses pieced with lovely fabrics, (all that I already have) and I got so inspired. Thimbleblossoms is where I purchased the pattern you will see in a moment!!!

Here goes, I'm in love, can't wait to make more and more.......Many people have been making them, including Debbie at happylittlecottage, lovely blog and inspiring.

This is the soon to be lap quilt or wall hanging

Ok, I think you get the idea.....aren't they cute!? Can you see where the sky's the limit on the fabric combinations. I tried to put something in the doorway for detail and that was fun and tricky in the measuring aspect.  I won't be able to show you the finished project for quite some time. It's going to be a gift and someone would see it!!!! But I promise to show you after the delivery.

Next up was the "Save the Date Bunting" for Amy and Andy. This was fun and a pretty quick project. I did have to get it done for this Friday, so I'm ahead of the game. The kids are having their "save the date" photos this Friday and if it works out they will incorporate the bunting into the photo for the cards.  IT's all such fun.

The process, ironed on hearts and stenciled numbers

Used Blanket stitch to outline hearts for more visibility

                                          Sewed bunting flags together

Nicely ironed and laid out, I always work hand and hand with an iron, it really helps make things neat and tidy

                                           Finished "Save the Date" Bunting

I added buttons in-between each flag just for added detail. I think Helen had this idea in one of her amazing books!! Thank you Helen❤️

So as you can see I have been busy and still alive! I missed blogging! I tried to visit you all, sorry if I may have missed any of you. I do so enjoy all of you and thank you in advance for your visits to my blog. Love your comments and visits.

Summer and Treat

Happy day to you all. It's been lovely weather here in New England, USA. Everything is green, in bloom, bees buzzing, birds singing, humming birds humming, sun shining, strawberries bountiful, farmer markets in full swing, people out and about, kids out of school and people are friendly and smiling. SUMMER is HERE!!!!

Finished my vegetable garden bunting.....So festive and it makes me smile!

Not much yarn making happening in my world BUT lots of being outside, walks with Jack, errands, Zumba (my new love), gardening and reading. My lasted book is The Husband's Secret by Liana Moriarty,  good so far and a fast read. My reading list at the bottom portion of my blog is definitely  growing and always in the summer. I love to read outside on the deck or porch in the cool of a summer breeze.

Summer treat for Jack. Here take a look!

Oh, "YES" Jack in doggy Heaven!!!
I treat him to a soft serve whenever I need to go to Home Depot for home or garden supplies!
This time it was just 'cause it was a hot day!!

Next on my list of show and tell are some of my beautiful flowers around the yard

As you can see, the Peonies are in their height of glory! So lovely and they smell delightful! Ants like them too,  have to be careful bringing cut flowers inside for arrangement.

Well, that's all for now my friends. Hope your days are happy, your nights relaxing and you are able to enjoy your down time. Any vacations coming? We have one coming in early July to the Vineyard, oh happy day!!!

Thanks for stopping in,  I love seeing you here and I thank you all in advance!

A Few Firsts

Thank you all so much for your sympathy with my leg injury. I'm doing better. Since last I blogged, I have been to the orthopedic doctor and "MY FIRST" time with Physical Therapy. I am now in a hinged knee brace and boy, did it feel great to get out of the immobilizer. Now, after my first PT I'm to do stretching exercises and not wear the brace as much. So I'm making strides! It seems I dislocated my patella (knee) with the impact of the blow to my knee (from the dog). That is why my pain was so severe and the swelling immediate. I need to now strengthen my ligaments, it's amazing how quickly all this deterioration in movement and tightness happens.  I see the light at the end and I'm optimistic!

                                           New hinged knee brace

Now, my exciting "New First" the second one. I made a new design for my crochet hooks. I'm in love along with many others with buntings, thanks to my UK friends!!!! I had the thought to try to made a bunting with the sculpting clay. I enjoyed the challenge and even like the result. What do you think??

Can be found in my shop

Since I have been so stationary, I have made a lot of headway with my Granny Square blanket. Amazing what you can do when you are forced to slowdown.

I think am making a Queen size spread, but not to go over the sides, just to be a coverlet on top, so I have a long way to go!

Well, my friends, that's all I have to tell and show! I'm really quite boring right now, so thanks for  taking the time to visit. I'm really appreciating it more than ever. I leave you with this lovely photo, I found this somewhere on the www. or pinterest!  I do love pinterest, you can really get captivated in it. (in a good way)

Love to all, xoRobin❤

Thanks and Bunting Love

Hi my dear friends and new followers, I thank you all for popping in.

First, "thank you" so much for all your well wishes for a safe and happy visit with my mom. I am home safety and it was a productive and heart warming visit. I am thankful and grateful for the time I get to be with her during this difficult time in her life.  Our families have all been supportive and comforting for my brother and myself. Her Alzheimer's is progressing, oh how, I wish they could find a cure or cause for this disease. I don't know who suffers more the patient or the family. But on a happier note, my mom is mostly happy and is so well taken care of, you can't ask for more then that! I feel very blessed to have come across such a wonderful agency and this caring live-in woman. It is so reassuring to know there're so many special people out there who have the skills and compassion for the elderly. It brings me hope for this world!

"So what about the Bunting Love"
Well, I was doing some etsy surfing and came across this fun and fantastic ..........

I had to buy it. Anything with a Bunting on it whether fabric, plastic, glass.......I LoVe
I know I'm not alone by any means, I love bunting, like I love buttons and yarn and fabric.

So it came like this

Yes, it came from Thailand, and I think it took a month, but it was so worth it!!

Do you know what it is??

Yes, a bunting iphone 4s case and I love it.

What do you think? Do you like it too?

I know I'm silly but isn't it cool!

I also ordered something else a bit ago, which I am in love with. Let me show you...........I love buying things on the internet, but mostly I love receiving them!

This is a lovely button pin from the talented Jenny Arnott. Don't hesitate to check out her blog and
etsy shop you won't be disappointed.

I have this pin on my sweater jacket and it looks stunning.

Well, this is all I have for today! Thank you all again for your kindness and friendship! Thank you for popping over from wherever you are, I feel special because of all of you. That makes all of you ❤SPeCiaL TOO

I leave you with this. Doesn't my mom have good taste? She picked this out at the food store. Mom loves her sweets, especially chocolate.

2 Trips to the Vineyard and Back

Oh my, it's been a whirly wind! Excellent, but fatiguing. Two trips to Martha's Vineyard, one on the weekend and one two days later. "Trouble in the Vineyard". First trip great until I discovered washing machine tank 2mm from overflowing. Believe me that would have been a disaster, if I hadn't gone to open up the house. It would have flooded until Memorial Day, our next time down!!!! BUT I found it, panicked a little, and then got to work solving the situation. Spin cycle every 4 hours for the rest of the weekend, purchasing a new stackable W/D and back down 2 days later for installation! Meanwhile plumber came and put in a valve to turn off water just for the washer! Hurray, problem taken care of, until the next.....hope there is not a next : )            (we all know that won't happen, there is always a next)

1st trip down pictures

The NEW huge Martha's Vineyard Ferry. It has a double decker car lift inside. I was on the second level for the first time ever. It was a little scary, but completely safe.

Jack didn't know what to think!

Arranged some fresh cut flowers from the yard, in my test tube vases

My heart stone collection, mantel with my bunting for the 4th, my sea glass collection, and my newest blocks

These are the only flowering plants at the moment, more to come as the weather continues to get warm and stay warm!

Second trip

I don't know why you would want to see my old and new washer and dryer, but for my record I've decided to document it.   Sorry to bore you.

And then for the scariest part.........look what I had to drive home in for some of the 4+ hour drive.

                                                               "Such threatening sky's".

It was so dark and it was daylight!!!!! (soon to be dusk)

There was thunder and lightening almost at the same time, which means I was in the heart of the storm. I called my husband to let him know.........in case anything happened. Yes, I was scared and timid to be driving. But I'm hear to tell the story.

Thanks for reading my story and mostly for visiting my blog. I love, the fact, that I have so many friends that have gathered here and continue to visit. I have such fun visiting all of you and seeing what you have been up to. Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week.
