Flowers Knitting Baking

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is having a great start to the week. We had cold temperatures this weekend but we had SUN. It was so nice to see the blue sky, despite the cold weather. I have been seeing Robin's too. Did they forget to fly south?! It's way to early for Spring here, I just don't know, anyone else seeing Robin's who are living in a cold climate.
I have lots of photos to share with you today.
I have been enjoying my orchids of late, they are all doing so well and thriving in one particular window. If they aren't in bloom then there are buds. It so exciting. Here have a look

Take a close look and you will see the buds too.

Here is my Amaryllis from the first bloom to the fourth and there is actually one more hiding!!

I decided to start a sweater for myself. I had an urge to make a sweater that could be a "go to sweater" and have a little challenging stitch also. This is a lovely pattern with a garter stitch and a Trinity stitch. The stitch is like a pompom and so much fun to make. I'm taking my time in making this and it is becoming a very relaxing project. It you are interested in the pattern let me know and I will let you know where you can find it.

In the winter I get much more domestic and enjoy cooking and baking. I have recently used my bread maker and made a delicious loaf of bread. Take a peek

                                                             So easy and so yummy!

Look what my lucky Jack got from the kitchen. Made on Sunday! My Hb would have rather enjoyed some cookies for humans!!! Can't blame him.....he has to wait for ❤ Day.

                                                            Don't these biscuits look hearty

I'm also reading a new book, "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. It is good so far, but I have a long way to go. Anyone else reading this or another good book?

Well, that's all for now. We are scheduled to get more snow on Thursday, so I will be busy with my errands before then, if I get stuck inside! Family coming this weekend and "Little's" staying for a few more days. Happy Nannie and Poppy!!
Thank you for following me and being interested in my blog. I enjoy all of you and all your sweet comments. Take care, stay warm and craft on!!

  1. Gosh, Robin, I don't know where to start! I have been wanting an orchid but have had no luck in the past.. but might try again. And I love your sweater! And I want some homemade bread so bad.. hmm.. maybe today? I made zucchini bread yesterday and it will be my morning meal with coffee for a few days. I am about to start the Goldfinch, it's on my iPad.. I just finished "The Shoemaker's Wife" and it was pretty good.. but the ending bugged me.. she should have written a few more pages. What kind of cookies will you make hb? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Hi Robin. Your orchids are beautiful. I know that they take a lot of care. I have never had much luck with them.
Your sweater is so cute! Love it! And I too, make a lot of bread in the winter. Those bread machines make it so easy to whip a loaf up in no time.
I am afraid that I don't do much reading these days. Seems I would rather sew or crochet in my spare time. It is hard to decide what to do when you have several interests! I miss reading though. I read more in the summer.
Jack is going to be one happy boy!!

  4. That hat is gorgeous, so is your wonderful sweater. I am reading The Goldfinch and I have to say about 2/3 of the way through I have lost my interest, I am trying to keep reading, I got stuck in the middle of the book which I thought went on way, tooooooo long. I hope to make it through the end, but so far I think it could have been written with about 200 less pages.
    Hugs,
    Meredith

  8. Hello dear Robin,

Oh my, all those bakings (for Jack and for you) look yummy! And that hat and that amaryllis: wow!

I MUST get Donna Tartt's new book, I LOVED The Secret History so so so much! Thank you for reminding of her, I am always searching for new books to read. Have you read Peter Hoeg's books, I would recommend Smilla's Sense For Snow to start with and then The Elephant Keepers' Children for immediate second :)!

Happy weekend soon, dear friend, and happy reading!

    Yours,
    Mia
